Today turned out to be first real day of snow I think we’ve had here so it’s fitting that the second challenge about snow is today. I hope it sticks!
For the second challenge, I asked for you to show me what snow was like, and what it meant to you.
Here are some of the best:
Specks of stars that fall like feathers
and pile like mounds of salt
that feel like a mattress under your boots
crunching like spent coals
they cling on my father’s mustache
making him look older
older than he really is
as he smiles, bundled like me
in a big awkward coat
and hat and gloves
in the fort we have built
that is uncomfortable but warm
filled with a warmth I do not feel
all year while he works
I’ll be posting the new challenge for this week in a separate post later today.
