It's the first TILT of March already! Let's get to it.
Looking Forward to Spring: I love winter. You get to bundle up and drink hot cocoa and everyone strings lights up, but I'm ready for the seasonal shift. It's slowly starting to get warmer and I'm excited to see green again.
Working Out: I've started back up on my work out routines. My heel is better (though it sometimes hurts for no reason) so I figure it's time to get ready for summer. I went to yoga once this week already and it killed my muscles in an awesome way, and hooping really is a great compliment to yoga. I feel sore and energized and I love it.
Fresh Fruit: My mom used to have an orchard in our backyard, and we'd pick peaches and crab apples and blackberries from the blackberry bushes and just eat them outside in the summer. While that's not really an option in Chicago, I love having fresh fruit around to chomp on. It's kind of dangerous though as when it's there it's the only thing I want to eat.
Blogging Community: I've been sort of absent from Twitter this week due to work obligations, and I genuinely miss the chitchat of the ladies there. I love all your blogs. Your thoughts and ideas put into words and pictures help me get outside myself and appreciate the world from a different perspective. Thank you.
Giving up Coffee: This is sort of an additional Lenten practice, but I plan on giving up coffee permanently, save for afternoon coffees out and the like, but coffee as an everyday I'm trading in for tea or water. I love the taste and smell of fresh roasted coffee, but I hate how my body feels when I'm addicted to it. I cannot wake up adequately until I've drunk a cup and eventually I need two. Now I wake up and start to really feel awake with my morning stretches.
Refocusing and Re-energizing: Sometimes you need a little space to reconsider where things are going and the choices you have to make. It can be overwhelming in the moment, but if you get past the choices and think about what they lead to, it's a marvelous shift in view from the trees to the forest.
Runners up: finishing the 4th season of Angel, filing away finished projects at work, pasta!, being a vegetarian right now, "the love," countdowns, chunky jewelry, secrets about cigarettes and cologne, thinking about dying my hair, making lists.
